Yikes! The last post jogged my memory and had me looking in my archives. I never posted a Mother's Day wish to my mom! I was so busy enjoying my first mother's day WITH her, that I didn't give her due credit here!
Happy Mother's Day, to the woman who has consistently modeled grace, courage and kindness for as long as I can remember, throughout all aspects of her life.
I love you and thank you for always being there when I need you the most. Even when I was in labor and asked that you go home, you stayed and patiently waited for 14 hours to make sure everything was okay. You said I would understand that you can't leave your daughter and I do. I understand completely.

Happy Father's Day, Dad!
I had to do a little digging to get a picture of my dad and myself together. Usually I'm the one behind the camera, so I have a ton of pictures of everyone else, but few where there's proof I was actually AT the event. This is one of my favorites; it was taken on Thanksgiving 2006 at my parents' then newly-acquired cabin.
Happy Father's Day, Dad, to the man that taught me how to stand up for myself, respect myself and others, and haggle with the best of them. I love you!

Happy FIRST Father's Day, Travis!
Sunday was Trav's official first Father's Day. His one request was to hike around Pinecrest Lake; something we've been prevented from accomplishing until now because of other obligations. We were FINALLY able to take Adaline on one of our favorite hikes, and she loved it!
Happy Father's Day to the best dad Adaline could ever have. She loves Travis so much...it shows every times she smiles her huge gummy grin when he walks in the room. She just melts in his arms, instantly comfortable, and loves when he reads to her. I can't wait to see what the coming months and years hold for her and Travis. This is just the beginning of a beautiful relationship.

Six years ago, Travis and I publicly committed ourselves to each other in the presence of our family and friends. We had a fabulous ceremony (if I do say so myself) and a great party.

Six years later, Saturday night, we celebrated at the Twain Hart Concert in the Park. We look forward to the concerts all year long, and this year the season opener was on our anniversary!
It was Adaline's first concert, too. She liked the first half of it, but it was a bit past her bedtime by the time we left. She hung in there like a champ!Happy anniversary, Travis! I look forward to many, many more years with you and our new family!

Apple Crumble
Knitted Heirlooms
Travis' great-grandmother knit his cousin these amazing goods when she was born 31 years ago. Aunt Karen sent them to us "on loan" until Cousin Kelly is ready for them for her own future children. Adaline was able to wear the outfit her great-great-grandmother knit three decades ago, how cool is that? The articles are in great condition and the detail is amazing. We have a few more sweaters that will fit Adaline when she's older, as well as a few sweaters that my great-grandmother knit for me, almost 30 years ago.

cool weather = cute clothes
Thank goodness it was so cold in May. I was afraid Adaline would outgrow this amazingly cute jacket Jen gave her before she even had a chance to wear it!
