Home from Tahoe

We've just returned from a week-long trip to Lake Tahoe with the Walsh family.  The weather was perfect and our days were enjoyable :)  We were able to take in a few hikes, a night of gambling (I learned how to play roulette and I LOVE IT!), and an afternoon of massages.  Adaline seemed to enjoy the backpack carrier we inherited from my sister which made the hikes so much easier than I expected.
I took my camera with intentions of documenting the trip, but after reading two separate blogs that I follow each had posts about getting out from behind the camera to enjoy the moment, I found myself hands-free each day.  Travis and I both took a few pictures with our phones, which turned out okay.  These are of the first leg of the Tahoe Rim Trail starting at Heavenly's Stagecoach Express.

We also walked around Spooner Lake

We met up with some of Sara's friends for a great hike to Angora Lakes

We spent a couple an hour walking around Crystal Bay.  The lake was breath-taking (but Adaline was not so impressed)

We also spent an hour in Tahoe City, scouting out where we can stay next time that allows dogs, and this hotel is high on our list

All in all, it was a great trip and we look forward to getting out to do more hiking soon, now that we know Adaline likes it too!

Twins?

Travis took the picture of Adaline in the end of May, and we found this picture of me two weeks ago at my parents' house.  Apparently, baby fashion hasn't changed that much in 30 years.

Happy Birthday to the United States of America!

This year there is one more fan celebrating the freedom our soldiers and veterans have earned for us, the people of the great  US of A.

Cheeks Galore

Yep, Adaline has Daddy's cheeks.

Belated Mother's Day Photos

On the left, my mom and me, 30 years ago.  On the right, my mom and Adaline, 1 month ago.  Amazing.

Coastal Greatness

Travis, Adaline, Tanner, Belle and I spent a couple of days in Santa Cruz last week, soaking up the cool weather.  Travis was able to surf a couple of times and Adaline and I went for a couple of morning runs. On Sunday, we saw the Woodys on the Wharf morning parade alone West Cliff.  Okay, I saw it, Adaline slept through the rumbling motors and honking horns :)  We enjoyed every moment of the cool mornings and evenings before returning to the valley where it was over 100.  Blech.
